The annual Inter Varsity Dancesport Competition (IVDC) is almost upon us.

Looking back on the past year, it is interesting to reflect on how much things have changed! It has been less than a year since I first competed in Blackpool, at the time with only three months of dance experience.

I have been very fortunate to have found a fantastic person to compete with and, with only three weeks of practice time, we have put together four extremely good, competitive routines.

Given the length of time we have been dancing together, it would be foolish of me to have expectations. I will be aiming to dance as well as we can and if we make a round or two, that would be great!

I am also competing again with Katie for Acrobatic Rock 'n' Roll - we haven't had as much practice time as I would like, but we are fairly confident with the routine and we perform it well.

Lastly, there is of course the inter-varsity Offbeat group competition - the routine we have this year is really fun and it will be great to perform it with everyone else!

We shall have to wait and see how this weekend goes!
